Residents in Guangzhou's Huangpu district will soon be able to reach Shenzhen's Huanggang Port directly from China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC) via the Guangzhou-Dongguan-Shenzhen Intercity Railway.
Construction of the 6.6-kilometer Qianhai-Huanggang Port section of the Guangzhou-Dongguan-Shenzhen Intercity Railway will commence this month and be completed by 2025.
In the future, people will be able to travel from Qianhai and Huanggang Port to Xintang South Station and Guangzhou East Railway Station via Guangzhou-Dongguan-Shenzhen Intercity Railway.
In the meantime, they might also travel from Qianhai and Huanggang Port to CSGKC, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and Guangzhou North Railway Station via the Guangzhou-Dongguan-Shenzhen Intercity Railway and its north extension line - the Xintang-Baiyun-Guangzhou North Intercity Railway.
The 78-km north extension line will set up four stations in CSGKC, namely Zhenlong, Xinlong, Folang and Jiufo. After it comes into operation, passengers at CSGKC will be able to travel to Baiyun International Airport in two stations, to Guangzhou North Railway Station in three stations, and to Shenzhen and Hong Kong in 40 minutes.
In addition to the Guangzhou-Dongguan-Shenzhen Intercity Railway and its north extension line, Huangpu will advance the preliminary work on the Second Guangzhou-Shenzhen, Guangzhou-Heyuan, Guangzhou-Shantou and Guangzhou-Zhongshan-Zhuhai-Macao high-speed railways, according to Huangpu's 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) for National Economic and Social Development and its "Vision 2035".
