Updated : 2018-11-27

The Birth of Boluo, also known as the Birth of the South Sea God, is a folk birthday celebration. It is part of the most influential folk temple fair in the Pearl River Delta region and indeed in the Lingnan region. It has a history of more than 1,000 years.

The festival lasts from Feb 11 to 13 every year, with Feb 13 being the birthday. People from miles around flock to the temple. The festival’s lively atmosphere is not inferior to that of Spring Festival.
